Home Security Month

by Mark Rowe

UNION, part of ASSA ABLOY, Security Solutions, is a sponsor of National Home Security Month. Its aim is to create awareness around the importance of home security.

The nationwide initiative that runs throughout October features hints and tips to highlight the ways homes and families can be kept safe during the darker evenings.

Eryl Jones, Managing Director at ASSA ABLOY, Security Solutions, said: “We are proud to joining our sister brand, Yale, the founder of National Home Security Month, to create awareness relating to all aspects of home security. With recent published statistics showing that burglaries increase by up to 20 per cent when the clocks change, it is crucial that the security industry pulls together to help people combat the criminals who take advantage of the darker nights, by keeping their homes safe and secure.”

This year national home security month will be focusing on topics over five weeks, including: dark nights, door and window security, protecting your valuables, outdoor security and future home security. UNION will be offering advice on the benefits of using authorised trade suppliers during door and window security week.

Other supporters of National Home Security Month, include ASSA ABLOY brands: ABLOY, Mul-T-Lock, Yale Door and Windows Solutions, Yale Security Point, Yale Door. As well as, Screwfix, Homebase, B & Q, The Lock Shop, Maplin, Huws Gray, CEF, Ongo Locksmiths, MLA, the safe shop, secured by design, victim support.
