Door upturn

by Mark Rowe

OpenView Security Solutions (OSS), the privately owned security company, is expanding its manufacturing as a result of an upturn in orders for bespoke fire and security doors. As used in tower blocks and other shared housing, the doors are being fitted as part of refurbishment by housing providers across the UK, the firm reports.

Martin Gooch, General Manager of OpenView’s timber services department, says: “We are seeing exceptional demand for our premium quality security and fire doors which are cost effective, easy to install and comply with all regulatory requirements. The ability to manufacture these products in-house allows us to ensure that they are fit for purpose and meet the specific requirements of local authorities and social housing providers.”

OSS reports that it provides a design, manufacturing and installation service for bespoke timber doors, communal portcullis door sets and screens. They feature specialist glazing and integrated audio and video door entry, ranging in size from single units to complex multi-site networked systems covering thousands of dwellings. The company adds that it was the first to install and maintain a city-wide ‘smart city’ IP concierge which remains the largest of its kind in the UK.

The security and fire doors are made to comply with relevant regulatory requirements including sustainability and DDA standards. The FD30 and FD60 fire doors are all fully tested to BS EN 1634-1:2014 standards. Visit www.openviewgroup.com.
