Wireless NVR

by Mark Rowe

Vista is launching its four-channel wireless NVR, the VK2-REC04HDW, for homes and small offices. The product is able to record up to four full HD 1080p Vista VK2 cameras via LAN (local area network) or the unit’s integrated WiFi. The network recorder automatically detects broadband routers and programmes its own IP address information. An ‘Easy Install’ feature automatically detects cameras connected to the broadband router or network and starts recording them, out of the box.

The integrated wireless antennas allow for up to four wireless cameras to be attached to the NVR, to simplify installation the company says. The addition of relay inputs and outputs provides simple integration with external detectors and intruder systems, allowing the NVR to be event-driven.

Text-In lets users integrate with third party systems such as home automation or retail systems. Text from the third party system can also be overlaid onto the video and used to search video. Features include:

• four Channel Full HD Real-time NVR
• Supports four 1080p video at 25 images per second
• eight alarm inputs
• Up to 3TB storage onboard
• Gigabit network card
• Integrated wireless for connection to VK2 cameras
• Audio support
• Supplied with the new VK2-client software

Mark Pritchard, Divisional Director of Vista, says: “The VK2-REC04HDW NVR is our smallest NVR to date but offers a great deal of functionality. The integrated Wi-Fi complements our increasing range of wireless IP cameras operating on WPS and greatly simplifies installation.”
