Recorders with PoE+ camera ports

by Mark Rowe

Tyco Security Products has introduced two unique solutions for faster, more efficient video security installation as well as cost-effective network video monitoring, says Stuart Bettle.

The exacqVision M-Series is for surveillance systems needing up to eight cameras, and the exacqVision LC-Series Una recorder includes exacqVision video management system (VMS) software, server and integrated PoE+ camera ports. Users can connect up to 16 cameras per Una recorder and store up to 12 TB of video per system.

With integrated PoE ports, VMS software and client all contained within the server, no external and costly PoE switch is needed. There are no camera licenses to purchase or apply as both recorders are fully licensed out of the box, which adds to the ease of installation.

With up to eight IP cameras per system on the M Series, users can choose to view the live and recorded video in a way that best suits their needs. Both the on-board client and free remote client enables the user to administer their system as well as the video. For those who require the additional freedom of using a browser or App, the M-Series NVR can be accessed from any Web Browser and from the exacq Mobile App available for iOS and Android devices.

The high output power supply of the exacqVision LC-Series Una recorder provides up to 25 watts per camera and a maximum of 100 watts per eight cameras and 200 watts per 16 cameras. Pre-loaded with exacqVision software for every IP camera port, Una recorders come with up to 16 exacqVision Start VMS software IP camera licenses. Users can view and administrate live and recorded video directly from the recorder using the included exacqVision client or remotely using a web browser or exacqVision client on a separate computer. The freely distributed client software can be installed on Windows, Linux or Mac systems.

Like all exacqVision recording solutions, the M Series and the LC-Series Una uses exacqVision EasyConnect to find, address and connect Illustra and selected other IP cameras to their network automatically and self-configure for motion-based recording. Therefore, users can plug in their IP cameras and start recording, significantly reducing installation time and labor. To further simplify maintenance, the LC-Series Una recorder enables users to remotely monitor and control power to individual cameras with no separate switch management software required.

The LC-Series Una is scalable with the entire line of exacqVision servers and software. Each LC-Series Una recorder includes a three-year hardware warranty and three years of free software updates.

The exacqVision recorders from Tyco Security Products are cost-effective, intuitive and efficient video solutions that combine PoE camera management and dependable video recording performance at price points that are appealing to a variety of applications.
