Network illuminators

by Mark Rowe

CCTV lighting manufacturers Raytec launch a new category in CCTV lighting – VARIO IP network Illuminators.

VARIO IP is available in Infra-Red and White-Light and allows for remote set up, commissioning, operation and maintenance of a lighting scheme. Once integrated into a network system, VARIO IP can be accessed and controlled via an integrated web interface at any time from anywhere on the network. The product comes as standard with discovery software for location and connection on your network. Users have control over their lighting at all times, to alter settings and respond to operational changes or live events in real time, for the CCTV images 24-hours. VARIO IP Web Interface provides a screen for manual adjustment and response to live events; control of individual or group of lights; basic settings such as power on/off, boost and deterrent lighting; user-defined settings; diagnostics for feedback on the status each light; and password protected.

Buzz Coates, Raytec’s Global Business Development Manager, says: “VARIO IP now offers our customers greater flexibility and control of their lighting, to help them get the most out of their system and maximise energy savings. Being able to control lights individually or in groups makes it much easier to use the right amount of light, when and where required.”

An API is also available for VMS integration, allowing operation of your lighting within your overall security system. The makers say VARIO IP reduces visits to site, minimises labour time and costs, whilst ensuring maximum performance from your system at all times.
