IR panoramic network camera

by Mark Rowe

New from VIVOTEK, the Taiwanese IP surveillance product company, is its 180 degree IR panoramic network camera, CC8371-HV. Building on the CC8370-HV outdoor camera, the latest 3-megapixel CC8371-HV offers 180 degree horizontal panoramic views with an adjustable 25 degree tilt angle and new 15 metre infra-red illuminators, providing video at night. The makers say that the CC8371-HV is suitable for indoor and outdoor uses, such as boutiques, convenience stores, banks, schools, parking garages and residential homes. An anti-ligature design makes the camera also suitable for high security use, the firm adds.

The camera comes with built-in 180 degree IR illuminators effective up to 15m and adopts WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) Pro, for capturing the dark and bright areas of an image and combining the differences to create a realistic representation of the original scene. With SNV (Supreme Night Visibility), the CC8371-HV is able to provide quality images under low-light it is claimed. This visibility at night time further enables the CC8371-HV to deliver high-level security around-the-clock the company adds.

The CC8371-HV has a IP66 and IK10-rated housing to enable the panoramic camera to withstand rain and dust, as well as to protect against vandalism or tampering when deployed outdoors. The camera includes two types of mounting plates, and users can choose flat mount or cable management tilt mount accessories at installation. With the addition of a built-in microphone, sounds within 5m can also be monitored and recorded.
