Distribution agreement

by Mark Rowe

Mayflex, the distributor of converged IP security and other products, has an exclusive sales agreement with MOBOTIX in the UK. Pictured left to right are Steve Proctor, Director of Sales, Electronic Security at Mayflex and Tonny Frederiksen, Business Development Director, Northern Europe of MOBOTIX. Birmingham-based Mayflex reports it has distributed the MOBOTIX products for over ten years.

MOBOTIX, a German company, makes cameras that contain a range of sensors and a computer that analyses data, logically links it and independently initiates actions to defend against hazards.

Steve Proctor says: “This is fantastic news for Mayflex. Exclusive distribution rights will allow us to create closer ties with existing partners and engage with new customers who may have never dealt with Mayflex previously. We will work with MOBOTIX to ensure the market is kept up to date on product developments and provide significant education opportunities by delivering official training courses via the Mayflex Academy and James Vian, Training and Vendor Manager at Mayflex. We are delighted to continue this strong partnership and are looking forward to growing our business to an even higher level over the coming months.”

And Tonny Frederiksen, Business Development Director, Northern Europe of MOBOTIX says: “Over the last few months, we have been reviewing our internal procedures, go-to-market strategy and distribution partners. As we continue to review our processes we have concluded that a simpler distribution strategy for the UK market will deliver better results for us. Mayflex has been a strong, valued and strategic distribution partner since 2005. Over the years we have built a trustworthy partnership which helped make the decision an easy one for both companies to make. We have both committed ourselves to invest further efforts to develop the partner channel and expand the visibility of MOBOTIX in the market.”

Mayflex adds that it has staff to provide pre-and post-sales support besides assisting with product choice and specification. Channel Assist services include the pre-staging of IP devices.
