Box cameras

by Mark Rowe

New from VIVOTEK are two box network cameras, the IP8155HP and IP8165HP.

The products offer 60 frames per second (fps) at 1.3-Megapixel resolution, and 60 fps at 2-Megapixel resolution respectively. Both cameras are designed with WDR (wide dynamic range). The IP8165HP delivers WDR Pro, while IP8155HP comes with the more advanced WDR Pro II, which provides the makers say extreme visibility under high contrasts, with a four-shutter capture method. Combined with 3D Noise Reduction Technology, IP8155HP and IP8165HP are able to capture video under low-light conditions and reduce bandwidth from sensor noise, according to the company. To control the iris with extreme precision, both cameras are designed with a P-iris lens with its built-in stepper motor. Through integration with the camera firmware, the lens is able to keep the iris opening at an optimal level at all times, the makers add.

To help installers to adjust the focus of IP8155HP and IP8165HP, the RBF (Remote Back Focus) System is being introduced on both cameras, for focus adjustment. Incorporating the EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) function allows the image to be free of turbulence whenever physical shaking of the camera is detected.

Steve Ma, Executive VP at VIVOTEK, said: “In response to the strong market demand for cameras with high visibility under any kind of conditions, we are keeping our commitment to the development of WDR series cameras in different form factors. Right after the launch of a series of dome and bullet type network cameras earlier this year, now we have our box type network cameras with advanced WDR technology, meeting our customers’ diversified demands.”
