Anti-ligature fisheye camera

by Mark Rowe

VIVOTEK has launched its anti-ligature fisheye network camera, the CC8370-HV. This compact 3-Megapixel camera features an anti-grip design, WDR Pro (a wide dynamic range feature) and vandal resistant housing for the safety of detainees. The Taiwanese firm says that the product is designed detention houses, holding cells, psychiatric wards, and prisons.

The camera’s anti-ligature edges are for preventing self-harm. Featuring 180 degrees horizontal panoramic views with an adjustable 25 degrees tilt angle, the camera allows users to see any event in cells, with zero blind spots. Thanks to a built-in microphone, sound within a 5m radius can also be clearly recorded.

The CC8370-HV comes with a robust IP66-rated and IK10-rated housing, to enable the camera’s body to withstand water and dust and to protect against vandalism or tampering. For 24/7 surveillance, it comes with WDR Pro, which captures both the dark and bright areas of an image and combines the differences to create a realistic representation of the original scene. The SNV (Supreme Night Visibility) feature is for quality images under low-light.

The product is also supported by ST7501, the company’s free video management software, which is able to record network video streams up to 32 channels. A user can set up IP surveillance systems and plan ahead by setting up numerous alarm triggers, such as motion detection and camera tampering detection.

Tim Su, Director, Marketing Communication Department, VIVOTEK said: “The debut of CC8370-HV has shown VIVOTEK’s adaptability to a unique and changing market. With15-years of experience focusing on IP surveillance, we are always prepared to create and embrace new business challenges and opportunities.”
