Commercial Center CCTV

by Mark Rowe

An Iranian case study from the west of Tehran City: the new YAS Commercial Center was in need of a surveillance system. It required cameras to cover interior and exterior spaces, including parking, main corridors, entrances and exits.

Pooya Fara Negar, a VIVOTEK distributor, provided a IP-based system. A total of 305 VIVOTEK cameras were installed across the centre, for coverage of all areas under any lighting or weather, while maintaining a low profile and blending in with the site design.

Tehran’s climate, which may be harsh at times with temperatures ranging from minus 17 to plus 43 degrees C, would test the mettle of any surveillance system.

VIVOTEK’s IP8332 and SD8363E were chosen, for their image quality in all lighting. Some 82 IP8332s, a bullet-style network camera, were installed to cover parking areas. Thse cameras feature a 1MP sensor enabling 1280×800 viewing resolution at 30 fps (frames per second), a removable infrared-cut filter and IR illuminators effective up to 15m for images around the clock, and an IP66-rated housing to withstand rain and dust.

Also 11 SD8363E speed domes with 20x zoom lenses were installed around the perimeters. Those speed domes features 1080p Full HD resolution, IP66- and NEMA 4X-rated housing, and real-time H.264, MPEG-4 and MJPEG compression.

For indoor corridors, foyers and communal areas, FD8137H, IP8131, FD8164 and FD8166 products were installed for their small sizes, and image quality. The FD8164 is a fixed dome network camera designed for indoor applications with a compact exterior. Designed with 2-Megapixel CMOS Sensor, FD8164 enables capturing high resolution video. The FD8166 is a small fixed dome network camera. Set-up time is less than 120 seconds, the Taiwanese makers say.

William Ku, Vice President of VIVOTEK’s International Business Division, added: “We’re very excited about the successful installation of this VIVOTEK system for the YAS Commercial Center. We at VIVOTEK are always happy to meet challenges and to exceed expectations, and we particularly enjoy working in the beautiful but challenging environment of Tehran as it gave our IP8332, with its weather and dust-proof housing a chance to prove its resilience.” Visit www.VIVOTEK.com.
