VMS latest version

by Mark Rowe

With the release of exacqVison 7.4 video management system (VMS), Tyco Security Products has integrated this latest version of the software with the DSC PowerSeries Neo intrusion detection product.

With the existing Kantech access control integration introduced in exacqVision 7.2, exacqVision users can operate and control live and recorded video, intrusion and access control from a single client interface. With version 7.4, a new text filter box appears at the top of the live, search and configuration navigation trees to find camera and server faster in the exacqVision client. In large installations, the new tree filtering allows a security operator to locate their desired specific server. Version 7.2 introduced set-up indicators to guide installers through common configuration options. In 7.4, users will receive real-time notifications of camera or video recorder ‘health’ needs to address, such as storage, video throttling, system voltage and temperature, IP camera connection lost, or video loss. The VMS now supports nearly 3000 IP camera models including the new Illustra Pro 2MP 30x PTZ.

The exacqVision VMS is accessed with the freely distributed exacqVision client software (Windows/Linux/Mac), the exacqVision free web browser client available for web browsers (Google Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari and Opera), as well as the free Exacq mobile app for iOS, Android and Windows Phone 8 devices. The VMS software is included with pre-configured exacqVision NVR servers or it can be installed on third-party Windows or Linux-based systems. For more, go to www.exacq.com.
