After the release of its latest H.265/HEVC surveillance products, the Taiwanese network video product company VIVOTEK reports that its H.265 3-Megapixel network cameras now are integrated with Genetec‘s security platform, Security Center 5.4. Users of that Security Center 5.4 software can now adopt VIVOTEK’s self-developed Smart Stream II tenology and the H.265 video compression standard.
The latest release of Genetec Security Center 5.4 features logical security and video encryption mechanisms, support for the H.265 video compression standard, and the Plan Manager mapping module. The 5.4 version is one of the first video management platforms that offers support for H.265 video compression, and can be fully integrated with VIVOTEK’s H.265 3-megapixel network cameras. With WDR Pro, SNV (Supreme Night Visibility), and Smart Stream II, these cameras come in six models (FD9371-HTV, FD9371-EHTV, FD9171-HT, IB9371-HT, IB9371-EHT, and IP9171-HP). The makers say that the cameras offer video quality under any lighting while maximizing bandwidth usage efficiency by up to 80 per cent more than systems employing H.264, it is claimed.
