Video management software

by Mark Rowe

Wavestore has released V5.40, the latest version of its VMS (video management software).

V5.40 has a number of new features and the makers add improvements to some existing features, as a result of feedback from customers. Chris Williams, Director of Wavestore, said: “One of Wavestore’s key strengths is that we have established an excellent rapport with installers and systems integrators around the world. As a result we are able to closely keep in touch with rapidly changing market demands and when required, our software development team is able to react quickly to upgrade or add to the long list of innovative features included in our video management software.”

Many of the technical adds in V5.40 are intended to progress Wavestore’s compliance with ONVIF Profile G. Among the upgraded features is a metadata option which has been added to the range of search facilities. This reflects the company’s support of a range of video analytics and event alarm functions as part of integrated CCTV, the firm says. The metadata search facility can however be applied to any application that generates an alarm event.

The maximum number of cameras which can now be connected to a single Wavestore video server has been increased to 192 which can be a mix of up to 128 IP network cameras and up to 64 analogue. Also included is WaveSTAR, which offers a multi-purpose translation capability for integration of any third party’s equipment protocols.

About Wavestore:

Wavestore is a Linux based video recording and management system, which is able to simultaneously record images captured by combinations of analogue, IP, megapixel, HD, HDcctv and 360 degree cameras.
