TPS security head

The engineering and construction consultancy TPS has appointed Peter Hurry as head of its security and explosion effects division.

Formerly of Buro Happold and Kroll Associates, Peter Hurry has an MSc in Risk, Crisis and Disaster Management from the University of Leicester; and is a Fellow of the Security Institute. His experience includes 29 years in the military where he carried out a number of important counter terrorism roles. He becomes Head of Security, Explosion Effects, and M&E Group, TPS.

The security arm of TPS (itself part of Carillion plc) offers a range of services including security systems design, risk management, blast engineering and counter terrorism advice, design for the built environment and critical national infrastructure. The TPS people, headed by Peter Hurry, work with client security and facilities managers, or as part of multi-disciplined design teams engaged on new build or refurbishment projects.

Hurry will also oversee TPS’s mechanical and electrical engineering division which offers a number of specialisms in refrigeration systems, fuel storage and handling, aviation systems, blast and shock protection and nuclear, biological and chemical protection.
