Red Dot Award

by Mark Rowe

Dahua Technology, the Chinese manufacturer and supplier of video surveillance products based in Hangzhou, reports that its home security Full-HD TV box has a Red Dot Award for its design.

Red Dot attracts nearly 2000 entries each year. An international jury includes designers from all over the world. The TV box has been included into “Red Dot Design Yearbook 2014” and online exhibition of its website.

Dahua reports that its Full HD TV Box met the jury’s criteria because of its multi-functional use and its classic appearance, allowing it to fit into any surroundings. As for its usability, the TV box fulfils all the functions of a home security system, offers multimedia entertainment and serves as a home gateway. With the help of cloud computing, it can be used, for example, to regulate household technology such as light control. It can also be connected to a Wi-Fi IP camera, which can be managed and monitored from a mobile phone. With Android OS, this TV Box can also be used for video communication.

Tim Shen, Marketing Director at Dahua Technology, said: “This prestigious design undoubtedly underlines our design power as we strive to provide great user’s experience as well as to maintain our product performance to the market.”
