Integrated Systems

Occupant App

by Mark Rowe

HID Global, the identity card and printer and product ID firm, reports that Honeywell Building Solutions has integrated HID products into its new Honeywell Vector Occupant App, for building occupants. With mobile access as one of its features, the new Honeywell Vector Occupant App makes it possible for building users to use their mobile devices for card-free secure access to an area of a building, a facility or multiple locations.

Harm Radstaak, Vice President and Managing Director of the Physical Access Control Solutions business with HID Global, said: “HID Global shares a commitment with Honeywell to deliver a more satisfying, mobile-centric experience in smart buildings. We look forward to exploring opportunities with Honeywell to extend the benefits of using trusted identities on mobile devices for a variety of building services and applications.”

Honeywell used tailored integration workshops and testing offered through HID Professional Services, with the HID Seos credential (pictured) and app SDKs, to create the customised mobile access solution for its occupant app. The solution features HID Global’s patented “Twist and Go” gesture technology to open doors from a distance using a smartphone.

Working independently of underlying building systems, the app also includes HID Global’s mobile access system for management of IDs for building administrators. The technology in the app supports mobile credentials, providing building managers more control over credential transactions. Visit http://www.hidglobal.com.
