Mobile app

by Mark Rowe

Elpas, part of the Security Products business unit of Tyco, will unveil its new Eiris Go mobile application at ASIS 2013 exhibition running from September 24 to 27, in Chicago. This mobile app for Android and Apple smartphones is designed for use with Elpas’ Eiris RTLS Management Software.

Eiris Go brings Eiris real-time location alert monitoring and management to first responders. Eiris Go receives prioritised alerts, so that a response team can receive the correct alerts. Officers can receive indoor location positioning data about the location of a security situation as the incident unfolds. According to the US firm its applications include healthcare, prisons, and commerce. Care providers can respond to a resident’s medical needs. Security officers can receive urgent duress calls on their mobile phones assigning them to incidents.

Included is voice based emergency calling, when backup assistance is required by the responding officers. A speed dial feature lets the responder place a voice call into the location of the incident. Michael Wasserstein, General Manager of Elpas, said: “For emergency field personnel, where response time is critical, delivering the location of the security incident to a mobile phone can optimize response time, gaining critical seconds, which makes the difference. Eiris Go helps manage emergency situation response efforts and is another tool in the flexible notification system already available through the Eiris RTLS Management Software.”

Eiris Go is available for download from the Apple App Store or from Google Play.
