IP access

The Intelligent Technology Division of NBM Distribution Ltd – iTECH – is distributing Netgenium’s IP access control product, that is integrated with ASSA ABLOY Access Control’s Aperio, pictured.

ASSA ABLOY Access Control, a UK division of ASSA ABLOY, says that it’s worked with Netgenium to offer wireless access control as an option to the PolicyServer system for over two years.

The latest Aperio wireless cylinders, PINpad escutcheon and L100 – a wireless security lock, as well as KS100 have all been integrated into the IP access control.

Aperio is designed to upgrade mechanically locked doors and wirelessly connect them online and to new or existing access control systems. With minimal modification to doors and premises, according to the makers, Aperio offers a security upgrade, it is claimed.

Paul Anderson, Managing Director at Netgenium, said: “The alliance between our three companies is perfect. NBM & their iTECH Division understand Data Networking and IP technologies and are able to support our resellers throughout the UK who understand the physical layer from a network infrastructure perspective. While ASSA ABLOY Access Control’s Aperio solutions adds flexibility to our PolicyServer system, providing a highly cost effective, alternative to our high-end wired solution. The Aperio solution also integrates with all other aspects of the intelligent building via PolicyServer; this includes PoE audio, CCTV integration, PoE LED lighting and IP based lighting control.”

Danny Kindell, Managing Director of NBM and Technical Lead of the iTECH Division said: “We have recently expanded an innovative IP technology product range to complement our existing core capabilities of supplying Data Cabling solutions. Partnering with Netgenium and ASSA ABLOY Access Control increases the quality of our offering, through providing unique and flexible IP products that offer intelligent building management and unified communications.”

Damian Marsh, Managing Director at ASSA ABLOY Access Control, said: “Aperio IP Wireless hubs register and authenticate with PolicyServer over the IP network, ensuring none of the benefits of intelligent building integration are lost. Each wireless hub can support up to eight locksets via a wireless connection. PolicyServer can support multiple wireless hubs.”
