Integrated Systems

Detector integration

by Mark Rowe

Luminite Electronics, manufacturer of wireless and hard wired passive infra-red (PIR) detectors, reports a new IP integration with the Digifort IP surveillance system. Digifort is an IP open platform.

This new integration uses Luminite’s new MHConverter software which converts any alert sent in SMTP to a HTTP protocol. It’s allowing users of Luminite’s Genesis PIR detectors to receive alarm and tamper alerts via the Digifort platform. Digifort uses the HTTP GET method of communication between clients and servers for the delivery of any alarm, tamper or status alerts.

Available in 13 languages and used in 100 countries, this new compatibility will increase the scope of Genesis detectors considerably, London-based Luminite says. Critically, the Digifort system is scalable and is offered in four editions, with features and support for any size installation.

A number of new features have been added to both the Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 models. The MHConverter software is available to download free from the Luminite website.

Graham Creek, Managing Director of Luminite Electronics said: ‘We are delighted to be able to offer this new integration with Digifort and are confident that it will benefit installers and end users. The system has proven to be very user friendly and we can see that the application has multiple uses and greatly increases the integration possibilities for the Genesis system.”
