Staff awards at Christmas lunch

by Mark Rowe

Axis Security marked the achievements and efforts of its employees during its employee Christmas lunch at the Waldorf Hilton Hotel London. The event saw four awards presented: Security Employee of the Year, Acuity Employee of the Year, and national and London team of the year, plus new awards for support staff and management.

Security Employee of the Year was Emil Hawryluk, who has been with Axis Security since 2009, and at The British Library in central London since 2011. Now as Security Manager he leads a team of 17 and has been praised for ‘exceptionally high standards’ on what is an extremely busy and constantly changing site. His recent duties have included helping to facilitate visits from the Chancellor of the Exchequer and the Chinese Vice President.

Acuity, Axis Group’s front-of-house division, presented its Employee of the Year award to Ellie Self, pictured. She works at Earl Place, managed by BNP Paribas Real Estate. She has been commended for: her assistance in improving the building’s sustainability credentials; the planning, organisation and execution of numerous successful events; training new employees in compliance; and above all her outstanding average monthly SLA score of 108pc – the highest average score attained at any Acuity site.

The security team at Wythenshawe Hospital took the National Team of the Year Award, and the London Team of the Year Award went to Ark Data Centre’s Cody Park site.

David Mundell, Managing Director for Axis Security, says: “Our winners have all demonstrated a strong work ethic, clear customer service skills, and a thorough commitment to all aspects of their job. They represent Axis Security values and are a credit to themselves, our customers, and our business.”
