Sodexo control room

by Mark Rowe

Sodexo, the facilities services company, has opened a new 24-hour security control room. According to the contractor, it’s to manage the growth of its security arm Secure as it heads towards 250 sites across the UK and Ireland.

The Salford-based control room is described as a single point of contact for security employees, providing support for lone workers, alarm and CCTV monitoring.

The control room operated around the clock was officially opened by the company’s security officer of the year 2013 Craig Davies from a healthcare site, security officer Darryl Bedding from a corporate site and Sodexo Centre of Excellence director Phil Smith.

Mark Death, Sodexo national security manager, said: “We’re delighted to open the new control room, which will enable us to provide efficient and cost-effective security to our clients. Our lone worker support and innovative alarm monitoring systems mean we can increase the scope of our services and management systems as part of the Secure offer.”
