Property message

by Mark Rowe

In Cannes this week is MIPIM, le Marché International de Professionals Immobilier, a real estate event drawing people from over 80 countries.

VPS specialise in securing, maintaining and managing vacant property. Gavin Pringle, UK Corporate Sales Director for VPS, says: “Our key message to property owners and landlords is that even during these tough conditions, vacant property that is looked after and maintained, will be re-let far sooner than property left to decay.

“Our experience has proven that property units that are monitored, protected and secured from weather damage, intruders and metal theft are not only more likely to find new tenants sooner, but are also cheaper to maintain in the long run” he added. “The cost of repairs from water leaks or from stolen roof lead far outweighs the protection assigned to void units.”

The firm adds that it also cleans, clears and removes hazards, disconnects services, carries out inspections and provides maintenance. By deterring trespassers, reducing crime and keeping vacant property in working order, such units are better prepared for quicker re-occupancy, sale or construction, the firm says.
