Officer of distinction award

by Mark Rowe

Security officer Paul Williams of Ward Security was presented with a ‘Security Officer of Distinction’ award at the annual ACS Pacesetters Achievement Awards 2015.

Paul, pictured right, was nominated by Jacqueline Samuels, Facilities Manager of Kingsmead Business Park. She wrote: “During 28 years in the Facilities industry I have worked with many security personnel tasked to look after the buildings under my charge. Paul Williams stands out as one of the best. He exhibits a great attitude and commitment to his work and his willingness to take on additional responsibilities has enabled him to make a significant contribution to the Kingsmead Business Park Estate. His can-do attitude and willingness to go ‘the extra mile’ make him the one to call when there’s a problem or something extra needs to be arranged, and his organisational and communication skills are a major asset to us, the staff and visitors to the estate.

“On the occasions that we find ourselves in demanding work conditions, Paul maintains a positive attitude, inspiring others, including myself, to more effectively deal with unusual and difficult circumstances. He displays the most professional manner and exudes a tremendous level of pride in his work. He is the ultimate team player and is simply the most loyal and dependable employee I’ve enjoyed working with.”

Speaking about the award, David Ward, MD of Ward Security said: “We are delighted for Paul and congratulate him on this well-deserved accolade. Paul represents the company to the very highest standards and encompasses the values upon which Ward Security is built. His dedication and commitment to his work are clearly illustrated in Jacqueline’s nomination and it is extremely pleasing to see our client enthusing about a member of our staff with such passion. We are proud to have him with us at Ward Security, as we are of all our dedicated and committed staff.”

Two other Ward staff were also nominated for ACS Pacesetters Achievement Awards. Allan Clarke was nominated by Bob Rolph, Contracts Manager at Workman LLP for the commitment and dedication shown over the past two years as Site Supervisor, while Jeff King was nominated by Maryanna Camilleri, Facilities Manager at Davidson House in recognition of 14 years organising events on behalf of good causes and raising an estimated total of around £90,000.

The ACS Pacesetters Achievement Awards were on Wednesday, May 20, at Windsor Racecourse. Visit www.wardsecurity.co.uk.
