Magenta makes green case

by Mark Rowe

The environmental credentials of a security provider should be front of mind when choosing a company to work with, according to Abbey Petkar, Managing Director of Magenta Security.

In his new whitepaper ‘Managing Your Security’, Petkar highlights key criteria that businesses should look at when choosing their security provider. He believes the environment is increasing in importance for customers, and points to the company having won several contracts due to its green credentials.

Magenta reports that it was the first manned guarding company in Europe to be awarded certification to ISO 14001:2004 and was the first security company in the UK to become carbon neutral. Most recently the contractor has taken electric cars, described as a long-term investment which will reduce the company’s carbon footprint as well as vehicle running costs.

Abbey Petkar says: “When selecting a security company to work with, clients should consider a wide range of criteria, including environmental credentials. We’ve always taken pioneering steps to promote green improvements as a part of our wider policies because CSR, sustainability and environmental issues are ever more important to clients, and this has been demonstrated by the number of contracts we have won because of the green policies we have in place. The aim of my guide is to help clients consider everything in relation to selecting a security provider and helping them make an informed decision.”
