Lakes service

by Mark Rowe

Ulverston-based security consultancy, Lakeland Security, reports that it’s covering the north west region. The company, which offers a range of services, has seen a 25 per cent increase in enquiries compared to the same period last year; personal protection, CCTV monitoring and manned guarding of particular interest to those in the Bowness-on-Windermere and Manchester areas.

The business, which is owned by local entrepreneur, Andrew Brown, was started in 2014. He felt there was a gap in the market for a security service for successful local people, businesses, VIPs and international visitors to the Lake District. Andrew, who also owns executive car service, Lakeland Chauffeurs, has insisted his elite drivers take the ‘Defensive Drivers Training Course’ offered by specialists, Peter Coole Associates.

Andrew Brown, pictured, says: “As we’re faced with a seemingly ever-increasing amount of crime and terror in the news, there is a general perception of the world becoming a more unsettling environment, and we’ve certainly seen evidence of this awareness with the number of enquiries we are now receiving,” he explains. “We provide a professional, discreet and private service which is why successful local people, VIP’s and celebrity visitors to the Lake District are using us time and again. Lakeland Security has some very exciting plans for 2017 and beyond and I look forward to employing more people as we expand our operations in Cumbria and Manchester.”
