Infosec standard

by Mark Rowe

Mercury Security Management recently gained certification to ISO 27001, the international standard for information security management.

The Northern Ireland-based firm achieved this through the help of BSIA members and management system consultants Global QA. The security contractor wanted to show to existing and potential clients and staff that security is not just the service they provide, but a number one priority behind the scenes of their business.

Global QA worked alongside Mercury for several months on a strategic and thorough risk assessment of their business which tested their knowledge and the systems in place to protect the information they hold for all aspects of their business, focusing particularly on their clients and employees. Having received their final report they passed with a total of zero non-conformances which is, the consultants say, a huge achievement.

Several years ago Mercury selected Global QA to undertake all their ISO/ACS management systems. Francis Cullen, Managing Director of Mercury Security Management, said: ‘They demonstrated unparalleled knowledge and first-hand experience making it an easy choice in selecting and appointing them.’ Visit www.global-qa.co.uk.
