Best in Aylesbury Vale

by Mark Rowe

The facilities management contractor Ashridge Group won the Best in Aylesbury Vale business award at the Bucks Business event and then topped it by being awarded the overall prize of Company of the Year.

Based in Aylesbury, the Ashridge Group provides services and consultancy to corporates, live entertainment venues, rail and critical national infrastructure. The company adds that it looks to develop partnerships with other suppliers in the county.

Organised by Buckinghamshire Business First, a business-focused community which operates as a support hub for businesses in Buckinghamshire, the awards recognise entrepreneurial vision and hard work in the county. This year’s ceremony ran at the Aylesbury Waterside Theatre.

Alex Pratt OBE, holder of the Queen’s Award for Enterprise Promotion, was Master of Ceremonies. He said: “Nights like tonight are touchstones along the road to growth, nights where business ideas are shown to bear fruit. These awards act as a celebration of success and a vindication of perseverance in the face of internal and external pressures that challenge all businesses.”

Some 12 individual awards were handed out on the night with categories including Growth Business of the Year, New Business of the Year and Business Leader of the Year.

On hearing that Ashridge Group had been selected as the overall winner for 2018, Group Managing Director Emma Walker said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been named Best in Aylesbury Vale and even more thrilled to have been named the overall Company of the Year. We constantly strive to combine a quality service with a major emphasis on our own people’s development. Being recognised by these prestigious awards reinforces our vision of excellence and underlines the hard work of all of our team.”
