ACS Pacesetters award

by Mark Rowe

An Axis Security officer, Hamed Aminaeeamameh, was among those recognised with an ACS Pacesetters Security Officer of Distinction Award. It came for his work at Sadler’s Wells Theatre, in London.

Only 12 security officers were given the status this year, and the announcement was made at the recent ACS Pacesetters luncheon at Royal Windsor Racecourse.

Hamed tracked a suspicious woman who was asking probing questions and was seen taking photos of areas not considered to be of visitor interest. His work prompted Howard Clark, Support Services Manager at Sadler’s Wells, to nominate him.

Howard says: “The information Hamed collected was compiled into an investigative report and passed over to counter-terrorism officers at the Metropolitan Police. He helped to prevent a potentially life-threatening event, and his actions and report was highly commended by the Counter-Terrorism Unit, particularly since the suspicious visitor was already deemed ‘a person of interest’ to the police.”

The incident came after the theatre stepped up its security alert level after the Paris terror attacks in November 2015. Howard adds: “It emphasises the excellent job that Axis’ officers are doing at Sadler’s Wells. Their alertness and vigilance at all times ensures the safety of employees and visitors to the theatre.”

Hamed says recognition by the client and the industry is a great comfort: “In times of increased vigilance, particularly in public places such as theatres, it is crucial that security officers maintain high standards.”
