Infosec training in London

The IT and information security training body SANS is hosting its largest training event outside the USA at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London’s West End. Some 16 specialist courses, most with an associated certification are led by SANS’ instructors. Running from Saturday, November 15, to Monday, November 24, 2014, the courses offer an opportunity to network and socialise with hundreds of fellow IT security executives, plus SANS instructors. The body offers savings of up to 250 euros on tuition fees offered for payment by Wednesday, October 1.

The London event includes SANS@Night talks with refreshments included and social nights. Steve Armstrong will also lead a SANS NetWars tournament, free to all five or six-day course students. NetWars is interactive and internet-based; participants advance through five levels tackling a range of computer attacks and mounting suitable defences. The 16 courses are:

SEC560: Network Penetration Testing and Ethical Hacking led by Eric Conrad
SEC575: Mobile Device Security and Ethical Hacking led by Raul Siles
SEC579: Virtualization and Private Cloud Security led by Dave Shackleford
SEC580: Metasploit Kung Fu for Enterprise Pen Testing led by James Lyne
SEC660: Advanced Penetration Testing, Exploit Writing, and Ethical Hacking led by James Lyne
FOR508: Advanced Computer Forensic Analysis and Incident Response led by Rob Lee
FOR572: Advanced Network Forensics and Analysis led by Steve Armstrong
MGT433: Securing the Human: How to Build, Maintain and Measure a High-Impact Awareness Program, led by Tim Harwood.
