Cybercrime team head

by Mark Rowe

The audit firm EY has appointed a new partner, Chris Gould, to head its cybercrime team in the UK.

Chris has over 25 years of experience working with clients across a variety of sectors in Russia, Central and Eastern Europe, the US and the UK. Prior to joining EY, Chris formerly led PwC’s Cyber Security practice in Central and Eastern Europe.

The audit firm points to cyber attacks as one of the UK’s top national security risks alongside terrorism.

Paul Walker, Partner and Head of Forensic Technology in the UK said: “Chris brings a wealth of experience in the cyber space, where we expect to see significant growth. Clients will be taking steps to protect themselves from cybercrime, investigate breaches and deal with the aftermath of cyber incidents from rogue employees, criminal gangs and state sponsored attacks.”

Chris added: “This is an exciting opportunity for me to join a dynamic team. I hope to bring the skills and experience, that I have gained throughout my career, to help protect businesses from hackers and cybercrime.”

Since 2008, EY’s Forensic Technology practice, which incorporates a cyber offering, has grown to a £30m business and employs in excess of 130 people. EY says that it’s looking to grow the business significantly and almost triple the size of the team in the next five years to meet demand.
