Video recording platform

by Mark Rowe

BCDVideo has released an 84TB model of their Nova Series video recording platform.

This new product allows the storage company’s BCD380V8-M system to manage up to 73TB of RAID 5 useable internal video storage, a 150 per cent capacity increase, while still only using two rack spaces, the US makers say.

Tom Larson, BCDVideo’s Director of Sales and Engineering, said: “Having the extra capacity will lower the overall cost to the integrator. This solution also allows the majority of storage projects to be handled in a single recording unit, where previously two were needed to handle the video storage requirements. This model will help save rack space as well. With the high bandwidth that our system has always been able to ingest, we are able, for instance, to run one hundred 1080P cameras for 60 days with plenty of room to spare.”

BCDVideo plans to release more models with higher capacity prior to the ASIS International event in the US at the end of September. Visit: www.bcdvideo.com.
