Monitor output

by Mark Rowe

A ViMMO (virtual matrix monitor output), by the UK CCTV product manufacturer Tecton, is the little box you see on the back of the monitor. It receives IP video from a network connection, and decodes it to display on screen.

The product can be used on its own, to recieve images from an IP camera; or, add ViMMOs to Tecton recorders such as the Liberator and Servalan, and you get a Tecton Virtual Matrix.

The product allows video from one or many cameras to be output together on screen. Operators can select any camera connected to the system to be displayed in full 1080p HD resolution. ViMMO devices can attach to the back of a monitor or video-wall or be desktop or rack mounted. Connections are network, power and HDMI. ViMMO 1 for a single camera displays one HD or SD image; ViMMO MS displays up to six cameras; and ViMMO Wall can display 25 full 1080p HD images at once. Video is displayed in stutter-free real-time at 25 /30 frames-per-second.
