VPS, the asset protection company, have launched the JCB Alert Tower, a deployable alarm tower that can be installed in minutes. The tower provides a mobile, wireless, video-verified alarm with beam detectors which can be used as a stand-alone system, or integrated with other VPS Site Security products, to protect vacant property, construction or remote sites. With a range of up to 14m in daylight and 12m at night-time, the tower can be fitted with more security, siren and safety systems. Housed in a bright, robust, bespoke design, this entry level tower is for use, inside or out, where there is no surrounding infrastructure.

Deliberately housed in bright yellow casing to provide a deterrent, the tower contains the VPS Alert Cam, an armoured, video verified passive-infra red (PIR) camera. On trigger the VPS Alert Cam captures a ten-second colour video clip, automatically sent to the VPS Monitoring Centre for verification. The camera is self-powered by a two-year battery, is contained in a waterproof casing and uses infrared illumination. The camera deploys GPRS RF wireless communications for installation the company says almost anywhere.
