Intern at CCTV installer

by Mark Rowe

The Sunderland-based CCTV installer Hadrian Technology has a new graduate intern from the University of Sunderland.

Hadrian has recruited Andrew Dodd, 25, from Newcastle as part of the Graduate Intern Scheme with the hope of eventually employing him full time. Andrew graduated this year with a first class honours degree in English and Creative Writing and brings marketing and business administration experience to the firm from a voluntary position he held as a website designer for Tyne and Wear Archives and Museum.

As Hadrian’s new Marketing and Business Administration officer, Andrew said: “Hadrian Technology’s internship has given me the opportunity to work as part of a busy team, after only a couple of weeks I already feel valued and everyone has been very welcoming and encouraging. Raising Hadrian Technology’s online profile to help distinguish them from their online competitors has really developed my skills in digital marketing. I made the decision to stay in Sunderland after graduating because I know the North East well so I can draw upon relevant experience and contacts – not to mention that it’s a great place!”

Gary Trotter, general manager at Hadrian Technology, is pictured with Andrew. Gary said: “We have employed Andrew to help us maintain a high quality of business administration, including providing quotes for clients and invoicing, as we are getting busier. We have a proven track record of being able to work under pressure and delivering systems to tight time schedules. Having a graduate like Andrew on board means we have a valuable extra pair of hands, the skills he has brought from his degree – like hitting deadlines, thinking strategically and having a keen eye for detail, means we can trust him as one of us from day one.”

“Andrew is now the youngest employee in the company which was established in 1999. The demand for CCTV specialists’ means we are growing each year. We are currently preparing to recruit four new employees in the New Year, which is positive considering the downturn that some businesses have faced in recent years.”
