Arecont Vision, the US-based manufacturer of IP-based megapixel cameras, unveiled the newest in the MegaDome camera series, the MegaDome UltraHD, at Intersec Dubai 2018, in January. Brad Donaldson, Vice President of Product Development at Arecont, said: “The new MegaDome UltraHD adds Tri-Mode capability, offering the user the choice of 12MP at 20fps, 4K at 30fps, or 1080p at 60fps, enabling delivery of outstanding video for a wide range of requirements.” The day-night dome, for use indoors and outdoors, features a motorised remote focus/zoom P-Iris lens mounted in a three-axis gimbal.
The housing encloses integrated infra-red LEDs with adjustable beam angle, SDHC onboard storage card slot, and mechanical IR cut filter. The products offer wide dynamic range (WDR), NightView low light technology, binning mode for low light use, SNAPstream (Smart Noise Adaptation and Processing) for reducing bandwidth without affecting image quality, and dual encoder H.264 and MJPEG compression. Features include privacy mask, motion detection, flexible cropping, bit rate control, multi-streaming, multicasting, forensic viewing, and non-integer scaling. The camera offers network protocols for security and management including SNMP, HTTPS, 802.1x, IPv4, and DHCP. Powering is via PoE (Power over Ethernet) or optionally via 12-24V DC.
