Demo van

by Mark Rowe

DVS Ltd, the Cardiff-based HIKVision distributor, have unveiled their demo van. Described as an extension of the DVS Ltd demo room, the van has been designed to take equipment on the road and reach customers that are unable to travel to their HQ. The mobile surveillance demo van is free for DVS customers to use for on-site demonstrations and open days.

Launched at the DVS and HIKVision Golf Day on June 6 (featured in the July 2016 print issue of Professional Security magazine – and see gallery online), the custom build has taken three months and cost £60,000 and is kitted out with the latest in technology from the manufacturer HIKVision. DVS report already a lot of interest from customers and local councils requesting usage of the van.

The van has an 8 metre telescopic camera mount, fitted with a HIKVision Darkfighter pan and tilt camera, an ANPR camera and 4k bullet camera, two externally fitted mobile video surveillance cameras and six cameras internally all connected to a 4k monitor and a monitor for the mobile network recorder (NVR). It also has the latest network keyboard, DS-1600KI achieving fully self-contained mobile CCTV.

Dave Davies, technical manager at DVS Ltd said: “We have a lot of customers wanting to visit the DVS demo room but they struggle to find the time or they are based too far away. With our new van we will be able to take the demo room to them! Everyone that has already seen the van has been very impressed with not only the picture quality that we can achieve but the amount of tech we can show in one van. Customers are only recently learning about its availability and we are already getting bookings. It’s not surprising really when we are offering this service to our customers for free. The DVS Ltd demo van is just another example of us making sure our customers are receiving the best support possible.”

The demo van can be booked by speaking to a member of the DVS Ltd sales team, email: [email protected].
