Award for IDIS DirectIP

by Mark Rowe

The DirectIP surveillance product from IDIS was awarded highest honours at the first Korea High-Tech Safety Industry Product & Technology Awards. The awards, administered by the Korea High-Tech Safety Industry Association, chaired by Young-Hoon Bae, and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, mark accomplishments in technology innovation.

Professor Yoon-Sik Choi of Yonsei University, Chairman of the screening committee, praised the IDIS DirectIP solution, an image security CCTV product previously recognized internationally with industry awards and robust sales. Choi further recognised DirectIP’s optimized engineering, which enables easy and convenient installation and configuration, regardless of the number of cameras or recorders involved. Using a proprietary IP-based protocol, DirectIP moves beyond auto-discovery to full auto-configuration and true plug-and-play the makers say.

Albert Ryu, pictured, President and COO of IDIS Co, Ltd, said: “It is truly an honour for the IDIS DirectIP surveillance solution to receive this recognition from the Korea High-Tech Safety Industry Association. At IDIS, our commitment to research and development is second-to-none. We are fully devoted to the development of creative and innovative solutions for the security and surveillance industry’s biggest challenges.

“It’s no secret that network surveillance equipment is currently providing greater performance than ever before, but still has to deal with varied weaknesses in terms of installation, configuration, compatibility, and maintenance, particularly as solutions grow more complicated, sourcing from various vendors and technologies. DirectIP presents a solution to these problems, providing a unified range of cameras, recorders, monitors, and accessories that ensure convenient operation, smooth interoperability between devices, and intuitive usability of highly efficient functions.”
