2K camera

by Mark Rowe

New from IndigoVision is its Ultra 2K camera. The manufacturers say that even in the dark, a user can identify people or objects. According to the company the Ultra 2K is the first full HD security camera to deliver over 750TV lines resolution at 0.5 Lux. The makers say that the product’s image processing reduces object blurring, even during fast motion scenes at night. Its video compression means half the bandwidth is used compared with the nearest performing camera, according to the firm. Onboard analytics alert operators when people, or vehicles, enter unauthorised locations, or camera vision is obscured.

The fixed dome comes in a variety of indoor and outdoor form factors, meaning it can cover just about any type of installation, the company says. The internal fixed dome has various lens options. Built in PoE (Power over Ethernet) allows the camera to be powered from the network, connecting using a single CAT 5 cable. This model has a lightweight plastic, tamper resistant housing. And an in-ceiling model has an aluminium housing to be installed for in-ceiling use.
