Iris access for SMB market

by Mark Rowe

Aditech Ltd, a provider of iris biometric products in Europe, has introduced the iCAM Entry Application. The iCAM 7 series devices, enabled with iCAM Entry solution, help to address a gap in the small to medium sized business (SMB) market, according to the firm.

Paul Stanborough, MD of Aditech Ltd, said: “Our SMB customers are more interested in strong authentication projects than they were previously, with easy to use and convenient solutions. But we know that SMBs today can grow to become large or complex sites tomorrow.”

iCAM Entry requires no server or additional databases, and has installer and end-user wizards, device discovery, tool tips and help functions to get the product up-and-running. With future releases, customers will be able to use their iCAM Entry application and upgrade to the flagship enterprise access control IrisAccess EAC software. Features include:
•user interface, on-device enrollment;
•de-duplication check of entry on each device;
•on-device user database management;
•integrated device management; and
•touch screen and function keys.

Paul Stanborough added: “iCAM Entry’s value proposition gives integrators and installers a compelling, immediate and long-term solution for their customers and is one of Aditech’s strategic, go-forward solutions. We see tremendous growth in the SMB market. This is a key milestone for our identification technology. Iris recognition is a perfect solution for providing non-contact, strong authentication, convenience and security for SMB’s. As we did with enterprise security some years ago, we are pleased to be the first in bringing iris recognition biometrics to a host of secure identity dependent access control applications in SMB marketplace.”
