Trade event partnership

by Mark Rowe

The BSIA, the UK security industry trade association, and FortuneWest, a strategic marketing, design and sales consultancy have announced a partnership. It’s aimed at UK Pavilion exhibitors at international trade events. The official launch is at Security Essen in Germany on September 27 to 30, where FortuneWest will be present on the BSIA stand along with full details of the support and tools available.

As an Approved Trade Organisation for the security sector, the BSIA organises a number of UK Pavilions at industry overseas events, giving UK exporters the opportunity to exhibit at reduced cost on the show floor. Now, thanks to the new partnership with FortuneWest, UK Pavilion exhibitors can also benefit from access to marketing support and training tools to help them maximise sales opportunities before, during and post-event. The aim is to help BSIA members to plan phased pre- and post-event promotion and engagement, as well as maximise their time at shows. New tools will be available via the BSIA website to all UK Pavilion exhibitors for future overseas events.

Membership and Export Services Manager at the BSIA, Daren Wood, pictured, says: “We’ve found that companies invest in exhibiting as part of the UK Pavilion at international trade shows, but they don’t always know how best to maximise their investment using sales and marketing strategies and therefore they don’t achieve the results they desire. This is where the support available can help. Thanks to our new partnership, as well as enjoying the usual benefits that come with exhibiting as part of the UK Pavilion, exhibitors can also gain access to a range of top class marketing advice and support from our preferred partner. The BSIA has led the way for nearly 50 years in the shaping of the private security industry and our new partnership with FortuneWest reinforces our mission to support, educate and encourage excellence among our members and the wider industry.”

David Barrington, Executive Director at FortuneWest, adds: “We have a passionate belief in the UK security industry’s capabilities, and a long history of helping companies to grow using a broad spectrum of consulting, sales and marketing strategies. We’re really excited about our partnership with the BSIA, which is essentially about helping UK Pavilion exhibitors get the best out of their exhibition investment, and showcasing the best of British security and fire products and services to increase exports to overseas markets. Our experienced professionals have worked for many years in the security sector, helping clients to grow their businesses. We’re delighted to give UK Pavilion exhibitors access to knowledge that we trust will make their lives easier and strengthen their sales programmes.”

And Maxine Davenport, Head of Client Services at FortuneWest, adds: “First impressions are the lasting ones, especially when it comes to face-to-face engagements. When presenting products and services in a competitive exhibition environment, it’s vital to make the right impression and to stand out from your competitors for the right reasons. This is absolutely key to the success of these kind of events. Available in accessible formats for everyone – webinars, videos and downloadable written guides – the marketing tools we produce will provide valuable insight and advice on topics such as how exhibitors can market their presence pre-event, how they can engage visitors on-stand and how best to convert leads into sales post-event, providing UK Pavilion exhibitors with the marketing tools they need to ensure a successful event.”

FortuneWest is offering all UK Pavilion exhibitors a discount on their consulting, sales and marketing services – 10pc for BSIA and FIA members, and 7.5pc for non-members.
