The British Security Industry Association (BSIA) has appointed Peter Jack as the association’s new technical officer. This follows the departure of Paul Phillips, and the promotion of Stephen Lampett to Technical Manager.

Peter, pictured, joined the Worcester-based trade body on Monday, July 24. He was 23 years in the Royal Navy as an Information Systems specialist and a further 14 years as a Technical Project Manager. Peter gained experience including in operations, IT and technical management, facilities, maintenance, security, CCTV, fire, intruder, access control, compliance, health and safety and space planning.

Most recently, Peter was Deputy Director for a team in delivery of operational activities within a major listed building in central London, responsible for business continuity and disaster recovery, with particular emphasis on fire and evacuation.

The BSIA’s Director of Technical Services, David Wilkinson, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Peter to the team, and look forward to enabling our members to benefit from his extensive expertise in a number of relevant industry sectors, particularly the growing sphere of cyber security and its impact on connected products.”

Peter adds: “I’m delighted to be joining the BSIA at what is an exciting time for the private security industry, with a number of challenging projects and developments afoot. I am looking forward to getting stuck into my new role and supporting BSIA members to ensure they’re ahead of the game in meeting these challenges.”
