SECOM operations director

by Mark Rowe

After the retirement of Alan Gover, SECOM Plc has named Paul Weaver as new Operations Director. That’s a promotion from his former role as the company’s UK General Manager.

Paul has been working in the security sector since 1989, and joined SECOM in 2004, after positions at Modern Alarms and ADT. Starting as a Regional Service Manager, he progressed to Regional Operations Manager in 2007. After a period for the Midlands region, Paul became the General Manager for UK North operations. In 2015 his responsibilities were extended further, becoming SECOM’s UK General Manager for Operations, covering the UK and Ireland. Most recently, Paul was asked to join the Board of Directors in December 2015, with his new position confirmed by Tokyo earlier this year.

Sales and Marketing Director, Alan Blake, says: “The role of Operations Director is one critical to the future growth of SECOM, an area Paul has become increasingly fundamental to. It’s a position that demands strong leadership skills, a clear vision and a wealth of experience in the industry; all attributes Paul holds in abundance.”

The appointment comes after the announcement that SECOM has doubled its turnover in the past ten years. Paul Weaver says: “We’ve added so much more to our portfolio in the last ten years. The growth has been tremendous. I genuinely believe we can offer far more security products across the UK than ever before.”

Among other projects, Paul’s new role will see him working alongside Alan Blake, and Graham Bettany, on SECOM’s new National Apprentice Centre.
