Allcooper at new head office

by Mark Rowe

The Gloucester-based security and fire system installer Allcooper Group has recently completed its move to a new head office, in the centre of the city. The site sits in a prominent position on Kingsholm Road, home of Gloucester Rugby. Allcooper Group acquired the building in September 2015 and turned a car showroom and workshop into an open-plan office space where teams including installations, customer service, sales, finance and IT work. There are also fresh facilities for the firm’s engineers and space for hosting meetings, seminars and customer demonstrations. Allcooper Group directors outside the new office pictured left to right are Roman Cooper, Gary Cooper, Dave Phillips and Gerard Cooper.

Roman Cooper said: “Overseeing the move has been a huge challenge but it’s one I’ve personally really enjoyed getting stuck in to. The building was in need of a lot of care and significant investment. Our plan was to strip it back and start again, so we could tailor it to meet the specific needs of the business going forward. We’ve injected a new lease of life into the entire site and I think you can really see how we’ve looked to create a modern and state-of-the art facility for our staff, where the business can continue to grow and develop.”

The move to Kingsholm coincides with a milestone for the family-run business. Established in June 1987, this month marks Allcooper’s Group’s 30th year of providing electronic security and fire safety systems to customers in Gloucestershire, across the UK and overseas.

Roman said: “We’re all immensely proud to have been in business for 30 years. Having started off with just my father (Gary Cooper), brother (Gerard Cooper) and myself doing almost everything between us, to now having over 100 staff and further offices in London and Birmingham, it’s amazing to look back on how far the business has come.”

Allcooper Group has now vacated its premises in Hucclecote, where it had been based since 1997. Roman said: “Amongst the excitement of the Kingsholm move we’re of course sad to leave the Hucclecote area, especially having been based there for such a significant period. We have some great memories but we still own the site and plans on how that moves forward are underway. We’re also keen to remind residents and businesses in Gloucestershire that the move only makes us better placed to serve customers across the county and beyond for their security needs.”

The Allcooper Group brand was recently introduced to serve as an umbrella for the company’s four core divisions. These include Allcooper for home security and business security; Allcooper Garrisons for private client security and Gerard Cooper Security Consultants, a specialist security consultancy division. The latter two divisions are headed by Roman’s brother and fellow director, Gerard.
