Access Control

Traka in Program

by Mark Rowe

Traka, a UK-based developer of intelligent key and asset management products, has been officially Lenel-certified as an OpenAccess Alliance Program (OAAP) partner. This comes after testing of its Key Control and Locker Solutions with Lenel OnGuard 2012 and OnGuard 2013. Lenel, a US integrated access and video software firm, is a part of UTC Building & Industrial Systems, a unit of United Technologies Corp.

Traka has been a Lenel OAAP partner since 2009 and offers key management compatibility with OnGuard. The firms say it’s for users looking to control access to and audit facility keys, fleet vehicles and high-value assets including tablets and radios; also for users seeking centralized administration from the OnGuard product. The certification allows security staff to grant access to keys and assets secured in Traka key cabinets and intelligent locker systems through standard OnGuard cardholder credentials. Traka’s customizable events and alarms (such as item taken, item returned or item overdue) are posted to the OnGuard alarm monitoring application, which provides alert, notification and reporting.

What they say

Stephanie Hensler, international channel manager, Traka, said: “Making Traka’s industry-leading products available to Lenel value-added resellers (VARs) has been a key priority and this certification is a significant milestone in Traka’s growth plans.”

And Wouter Vansteenkiste, business development and OAAP manager, Lenel EMEA, said: “Lenel is constantly looking to enhance the products and services available to its channel, and we are delighted to have Traka on board as part of the extended product portfolio available to our Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) VARs. The OAAP certification of Traka products maximizes the value of the Lenel offering for our end users.”

Lenel adds that 92 of the Fortune 100 companies are already using its OnGuard system for access control and security. For more information on Lenel products, visit www.lenel.com or contact your local regional sales manager.
