Keypad and card reader at Intersec 2016

by Mark Rowe

Storm Interface are launching a new access control product when they exhibit at Intersec in January.

This new product is an outdoor rated, mullion format keypad and integrated card reader. The S60’s design, pictured, includes an atmospheric halo of light which projects onto the surrounding surface, producing a signature effect for landmark buildings, the makers say.

The firm says that increasing use of architectural glass and polished stone wall finishes creates challenges for installers of access control systems. Keypads and readers must be easily installed (or pre-installed) within the width of a door frame or mullion. They must also convey luxury, quality and style. Hence the integrated keypad-reader.

During 2015 Storm introduced the first in a new generation of toughened access control keypads featuring HID iCLASS and SEOS contactless technology. These products are now available from suppliers of access control products.

Peter Jarvis, the product company’s Senior Executive VP, said: “Excellence in product design and a reputation for product durability is an absolute necessity. However in a global market it is also essential to have established distribution channels to ensure product supply and world class product support. We knew that the new S40 and S60 products were a major step forward in product technology, but access to those sectors of the market that demand premium quality and performance was absolutely essential.”

ADI Global, Norbain SD Ltd, Kestronics Ltd and SmartR Distribution are Storm product stockists. “They are highly valued Storm-in-Stock partners,” said Jarvis.

Storm-AXS will be demonstrating these new products in Hall S1, stand H29. Visit: www.storm-interface.com.
