Access Control

Key on smartphone

SALTO’s updated JustIN Mobile product now lets users incorporate smartphones as a part of access control. Receiving a key generated electronically on their smartphone, previously identified and authorized by the system, users can unlock an assigned door from the JustIN Mobile app by selecting the appropriate key.

SALTO says that its JustIN Mobile means the end of lost key hassles. The product isn’t limited to one building or hotel room; it can also be used on multiple sites for main entrance doors, elevators, car park barriers and meeting rooms.

Michael Unger, Vice President PR and Marketing at SALTO, said: “As a leading innovator of wire-free access control solutions, SALTO Systems aimed to deliver the most advanced and versatile mobile access control technology solution to the market, increasing the efficiency of security infrastructure. Mobile access – and cloud-based systems will make a huge impact in 2017 and these solutions are already being fully incorporated into our complete electronic locking platform.”

Automatic user key cancellation, and lost key cancellation for visitors, staff or other users provides security, the product firm says. JustIN Mobile allows users to access a door with their BLE-enabled smartphone.

The JustIN Mobile app also now features bi-directional communication so that user events (access granted, access denied etc) and lock battery status are sent back to the system OTA (Over the Air) without the need for extra infrastructure. The app sends the lock audit trail and low battery status information to maintenance in real time without needing any more communication infrastructure in the system.
