Trailer monitoring

by msecadm4921

SecureSeal Systems Ltd has announced a partnership with a European tracking technology company, Frotcom International, to launch a wireless trailer monitoring service.

London-based SecureSeal Systems, part of the OEM Group of Companies, has agreed a deal to integrate its wireless RF trailer monitoring with the Portuguese company’s telematics in-cab system, providing customers around the globe with equipment for checking on the security and environment of their goods in transit.

SecureSeal Systems’ SecureSeal reusable security seal is already in use on transport fleets for retailers such as Walmart Brazil, Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Massmart.

By also introducing the new SecureRF range, which includes wireless temperature, door and security seal sensors, Frotcom’s tracking kit increases the number of specialised applications that are available to fleet managers and security users, particularly critical for the likes of chilled and frozen food suppliers and fashion and department store retailers.

The first pilot of the combined technology is running in Portugal with supermarket group Sonae, a SecureSeal customer, monitoring the security seal and temperature of their trailers into the fleet’s Frotcom telematics in-cab system.  Frotcom’s chief executive officer, Valerio Marques, said: “This new partnership gives our customers the opportunity to monitor their security seal as well as other components of the trailer, directly with the Frotcom system, without the hassle of installation wiring.”

Cameron Grant, Managing Director of SecureSeal, added: “Frotcom’s integration of wireless door, temperature and security-seal sensors provides their customers with new unique possibilities. Reliability is everything in trailer monitoring and that’s why switching from wired-in to wireless RF is the key to success. This pooling of resources by SecureSeal Systems and Frotcom represents true innovation.”
