Human Recognition Systems (HRS), the biometric installer, has made new senior appointments.

After five years as the company’s Transport Business Manager and Aviation Business Unit Manager, Jim Slevin has been appointed Aviation Managing Director at HRS. Jim’s time at HRS has seen him focusing on the delivery of aviation projects and consultancy with clients at airports including London Gatwick, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh, London City, Bristol, Belfast International and Liverpool John Lennon. Prior to joining HRS in 2008, Jim spent more than 20 years working within the aviation industry in a range of technical and management roles, latterly as Group Security Risk and Identity Manager at BAA.

Jim Slevin asys: “HRS’ aviation MFlow suite is already delivering enhanced security, passenger experience and operational efficiency to a number of major airports. Going forward, we will focus on supporting our existing customers whilst extending the capability and customer base for our solutions, further demonstrating their wider business benefits.”

Stuart Wilkinson has joined the company as Aviation Head of Operations/Project Director. Having worked as a consultant to the Home Office, leading on the re-engagement and enhanced development of the e-Borders (Border Security) programme, Stuart realised a £2.5m cost saving whilst increasing the effectiveness of existing IT infrastructure. Stuart also brings experience as a Programme Manager for Raytheon Systems’ Eurofighter IFF Programme, engaging with a multi-cultural portfolio of aviation carriers and IT system suppliers to manage the delivery of technical installation.

Stuart says: “The innovative technology drew me to HRS – it’s the most successful and biggest UK company in its field. I was particularly interested in the company’s commitment to driving efficiencies across the aviation sector, not simply in border control. Having been integral to the implementation of the e-Borders programme, I have extensive contacts worldwide within border security and the aviation/airport industry, so I look forward to exercising this expertise with HRS to the benefit of our customers.”

The aviation team at HRS has also seen the appointment of Aviation Project Manager Damian Donnelly. An experienced Project Manager, Damian has worked remotely and on site across Europe, Africa and Asia liaising with customers and coordinating teams using collaboration tools and agile methodology in the delivery of biometric solutions.

John Tonkiss, Chief Executive Officer of HRS, who has guided much of the company’s strategy for growth in aviation over the past year, will now concentrate on organisational leadership. He says: “We already have major deployments within some of the busiest airports and we look forward to expanding this in the future with the help of these new appointments.

“Working in close collaboration with the aviation industry, our innovative and proven solutions increase operational efficiency, retail conversion and security effectiveness, all of which ultimately enables a world-class passenger experience.”

HRS has also added to the construction team with Wendy Dorosz, appointed as HRS’ Business Development for Construction and Mohammad Rizwan as Installation Engineer; whilst in Finance Tony Jones joins as Finance Controller.
