Enclosures at CTX

by Mark Rowe

UK based steel and GRP (glass reinforced polymer) enclosure manufacturer Morgan Marine has launched its latest range of security enclosures and housings certified to LPCB (Loss Prevention Certification Board) SR4 and tested to LPS1175 issue 7.

The south Wales-based company, which designs, makes and installs custom-built security enclosures for the UK rail, utility and construction sectors, unveiled its new Titan GRP security range at Counter Terror Expo 2014. A full client list can be found at http www.morgan-marine.com/our-clients.htm

The Titan SR 4 sits alongside the Titan SR 2 and 3, and offers the firm says flexibility of build size. There are multiple lock options to suit specifications; a choice of LPCB certified ventilation options and other features. The makers add that the range will also complement stringent planning requirements as can be offered in a variety of finishes including brick and stone effect alongside the traditional smooth gel coat finish.

This new range builds on the firm’s internal and industry certified testing standards and comes with what is claimed to be the largest options list for SR4 enclosures available within the industry. That options list includes features such as generator cat flaps, ventilation louvers and cowls.

As a UK supplier capable of manufacturing housings such as switchgear enclosures, plant rooms and instrumentation kiosks in both GRP and steel, Morgan Marine, with sister company PSF Wales Ltd, originally spent a year focusing on in-house design research and development and in house testing processes before moving to test with BRE(Building Research Establishment) – resulting in the largest LPCB certified range of security products which are specifically designed to protect critical infrastructure against terrorist and vandal attacks, the firm says.

Counter Terror Expo 2014 also saw the launch of Morgan Marine’s SR3 and SR4 Hercules ranges which now feature the option of adding viewing windows and panels, generator cap flaps, louvers and cowls and electro-magnetic locking systems.

Sue Paton, Morgan Marine’s Commercial Director said: “CTX is a great platform for us to be able to show exactly what it is that we can do and the almost infinite number of adaptations that we can incorporate into our enclosures in order to provide each customer with a product that is not only fit for their security purpose, but equipped with the features that make it really work for them. Security considerations are unprecedented and we are constantly looking for ways to enhance the resilience levels of our products to deal with the evolving security threats that our clients face.”
