Airbus contract

by Mark Rowe

A contract for security at aircraft manufacturer, Airbus has gone to Securitas. The contractor says that the solution will provide many specialised services and includes the platform for Securitas to further develop its aerodrome fire and rescue services. The security firm has been providing security services for Airbus in France, Spain and Germany since 1990. Last year Airbus put out a tender for the UK and Securitas’ 40-strong bid team won.

Michael Clancy, Commercial Director at Securitas said: ” In winning this contract we have proved our specialist service capability and the depth of our reach back to specialists in both the UK and across Securitas EMEA. What was already Securitas European and Global Accounts Department’s (SEGAD) largest account has now increased in size with the addition of the UK portfolio.”

The service contract will cover Airbus’ sites in Chester, North Wales, Bristol, Portsmouth and Stevenage and will include reception duties, airport security, aerodrome fire and rescue, and fire vehicle and equipment maintenance and strategy advice.

Michael Clancy added: “This really is a most deserving win for Securitas UK and is testament to our strategy to offer our customers best in class sector expertise from the UK and across the globe. Our suite of services and unique approach is gathering serious momentum.”
